PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a reflection type display device by which a substrate or equipment around it is not contaminated due to excess display medium, and to provide a reflection type display device manufactured by the manufacturing method.SOLUTION: There is provided the method of manufacturing a reflection type display device in which a liquid display medium containing at least one or more types of electrically responsive materials is encapsulated between two substrates which face each other, at least one of which is transparent, and each of which is provided with an electrode. The method includes: a guide member disposing step of disposing a pair of side display medium guide members in a manner such that they are disposed on the one substrate or the other substrate and that they face each other with an area where the electrode of the substrate is formed, interposed between them; and a display medium disposition step of disposing the display medium on the one substrate or the other substrate and in an area which includes an area where the electrode of the substrate is formed and which can be located between the pair of side display medium guide members when the one substrate and the other substrate are pressed to each other and bonded together. |
