The present invention obtains a method for manufacturing an armature winding for an electric machine, the method making it possible to reduce the number of steps of press-bending using a press mold as much as possible, reduce the numbers of tool change steps and set-up steps accompanying the changing of wire rods and dimensions, and improve productivity, and also making it possible to improve insulation performance by preventing an insulation film covering a conductor wire from being damaged. In this method for manufacturing an armature winding for an electric machine, steps for feeding a flat type conductor wire (40) by a set feed amount, clamping and securing the flat type conductor wire (40) by first to fourth chucks (43-46), bending the flat type conductor wire (40) by pressing a first former (47a) to the root side of the flat type conductor wire (40), and releasing the clamping and securing of the flat type conductor wire (40) by the first to fourth chucks (43-46) are repeated, and the flat type conductor wire (40) is spirally wound by bending a coupling portion between a straight-line portion and a coil end at a set angle while the flat type conductor wire (40) is being fed. |
