The invention relates to an electrical machine comprising a cylindrical stator element that has at least one winding, said winding having a plurality of winding sections or conductors distributed around a machine axis, each section or conductor being housed in slots of a cylindrical laminated core of the stator element that extend in parallel along the machine axis. The invention also relates to a method for producing said cylindrical stator element which has a respective annular end plate running parallel to each end face. A tubular end-winding partition that extends away from the stator element is located on each end plate in the vicinity of a stator bore of the stator element, said bore running around the machine axis. The partition is oriented substantially perpendicularly to the end plate, runs substantially coaxially with the machine axis and is located in a substantially flexurally rigid manner in the direction of the machine axis and/or is immovable in the direction of the machine axis.
