PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor and a hard disk drive.SOLUTION: The spindle motor includes: a lower thrust member fastened to a base member; a shaft fastened to the lower thrust member; a sleeve which is disposed on the lower thrust member and is rotatably provided at the shaft; and a rotor hub which is coupled to the sleeve and rotates in conjunction with the sleeve. The lower thrust member may include a fitting protrusion, which protrudes upward in an axial direction and fixedly fits in a fixing groove which is formed at a lower end of the shaft denting upward in the axial direction, at the inner side.
