The element i.e. nozzle (5), has a connection-channel (6) ending in a connection-opening (7). Outlet-channels end in outlet-openings, and stay in flow connection with the connection-channel via an outlet-pre chamber (20). Flow resistances act on a binding agent in a region between the connection-opening and the outlet-openings. A flow resistance influencing unit i.e. porous structure, influences the flow resistances between the connection-opening and the outlet-openings. The unit is designed such that a pressure is produced in the binding agent during emerging from the outlet-openings. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for applying a viscous material on a substrate (2) a method for applying a layer of a viscous material on a substrate.
