PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light distribution control technology for avoiding provision of glare to a preceding vehicle in a case where marking light is irradiated to a pedestrian.SOLUTION: A lighting control unit includes a vehicle/pedestrian detection block 11 that detects the positions of a preceding vehicle and pedestrian, a positional change detection block 13 that detects a magnitude of a relative positional change per a unit time between the pedestrian and preceding vehicle on the basis of the positions of the pedestrian and preceding vehicle, an approach determination block 14 that determines based on the magnitude of the relative positional change per a unit time whether the pedestrian and preceding vehicle will approach to each other to some extent within a predetermined period of time, a light irradiation range designation block 16 that, if a result of determination by the approach determination block is affirmative, designates as a light non-irradiation range an upper side of an area in which the pedestrian is present, and designates as a light irradiation range a lower side thereof, and that, if the result of determination by the approach determination block is negative, designates as the light irradiation range the area in which the pedestrian is present, and a light distribution control block 17 that produces a control signal dependent on the light irradiation range or non-irradiation range and outputs the control signal to vehicular headlamps. |
