A wristlet watch having a time indicating dial 9 is provided with a date ring 5 which is actuated by a wheel 3 forming part of a clock mechanism, the portion 6 of the date ring 5 being shaped as a surface of revolution and arranged adjacent a similarly shaped peripheral portion 9a of the dial 9 which is provided with a window 10 through which indicating markings on the ring portion 6 are visible. The date ring 5 is mounted in a recess 7 of a plate 4 and is provided with teeth 5a which so engage a pin 3a on the wheel 3 which rotates on a boss 4a once in every 24 hours that the date ring 5 is actuated to present the correct date to the window 10. The date ring 5 may be of generally triangular cross-section, but may instead have a concave surface portion, or may be of V-shaped cross-section in which case one of the limbs of the V is provided with the markings. The ring 5 may be provided with alternative markings such as the names of the days of the week.</p> |
