摘要 <p>Vinyl fluoride polymers are made by polymerizing vinyl fluoride alone or admixed with another monomer in the presence of a solvent or dispersing agent at between -10 DEG and +150 DEG C., under a pressure between 1 and 250 atmospheres absolute in the presence of an initiator consisting of an inorganic oxidizing compound and an organometallic lead or tin compound in a molar ratio of initiator to organometallic compound between 0.01 and 1000. The other monomer may be vinyl chloride, vinylidene difluoride, trifluorochloroethylene, chloroethylene, tetrafluoroethylene, 2-fluoropropene, 3,3,3-trifluoropropene, 1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene, 1,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene, perfluoropropene, acrylic and methacrylic esters, amides, acrylonitrile, and unsaturated esters. Exemplified organometallic catalyst components are Pb-(C2H5)4, Sn(C2H5)4, Sn(C2H5)3H, Sn(C2H5)2Cl2, (C2H5)Pb(NO3)2, (C2H5)2Pb(HO)2, (C2H5)2PbCl2 and (C2H5)2PbSO3. Exemplified inorganic compounds are ammonium persulphate and borax, ammonium cerium hexanitrate, sodium hypochlorite, sodium periodate dissolved in 0.02 N sulphuric acid, nitric acid, and potassium permanganate solution. The polymerization reaction may be effected at low temperature in a solvent or dispersing medium such as water, an alcohol, ketone, ester, ether, amide, sulphoxide, hydrocarbon or halogen-containing hydrocarbon, or a mixture of an organic solvent and water. The polymers may be dissolved in solvents such as dimethylsulphoxide, or dimethylformamide, and formed into shaped articles using conventional techniques.</p>
