PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric caster capable of preventing operation failures of a power supply part and an encoder.SOLUTION: An electric caster includes: a steering shaft 3; tires 45, each of which is provided at the one end side of the steering shaft 3; a brushless motor 43 for driving the tires 45; a positive electrode side power supply part 9 and a negative electrode side power supply part 10 for supplying electric power to the brushless motor 43; a rotary encoder 27 which is provided at the other end side of the steering shaft 3 and is used for detecting a rotation angle of the steering shaft 3; a cover 28 which covers the positive electrode side power supply part 9, the negative electrode side power supply part 10, and the rotary encoder 27 from the outer side; and an O ring 31 which is provided between the cover 28 and an attachment plate 2. A positive electrode side groove 23 and a negative electrode side groove 24 for arranging a positive electrode side supply line 20a and a negative electrode side supply line 20b are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the steering shaft 3. The positive electrode side groove 23 and the negative electrode side groove 24 function as vent holes which allow an internal space K1 enclosed by the attachment plate 2 and the cover 28 to communicate with the exterior. |
