PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active energy ray-curable ink capable of forming a gradation image with little ruggedness by dots, uniform glossiness and excellent color developing property, even when a nonpolar film such as polypropylene (PP) is used as a recording medium.SOLUTION: The active energy ray-curable ink comprises at least a colorant, a polymerizable compound and a polymerization initiator. The polymerizable compound comprises a hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylamide and a trimethylcyclohexyl (meth)acrylate. In preferred embodiments, the content of the hydroxyethyl acrylamide and the trimethylcyclohexyl (meth)acrylate is from 10 mass% to 30 mass%, or a mass ratio (A:B) of the hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylamide (A) to the trimethylcyclohexyl (meth)acrylate (B) is from 0.1:0.9 to 0.9:0.1.
