[Problem] To provide a communication device whereby it is possible to suitably establish group calls. [Solution] A portable telephone (1) has a function to establish group calls by using a half-duplex communication method with other portable telephones (1). Each portable telephone (1) is provided with a communication unit (19) and a call execution unit (21). The communication unit (19) receives an SMS mail transmitted from each receiver-side portable telephone (1). The SMS mail is transmitted on the basis of an operation carried out on a participation notification key (104) by means of each receiver-side portable telephone (1) after an incoming call response was provided by each receiver-side portable telephone (1). Each SMS mail contains the telephone number of the respective receiver-side portable telephone (1) so that the call-initiator can identify each receiver-side portable telephone (1). The call execution unit (21) acquires the telephone numbers from the SMS mails received by means of the communication unit (19), and issues a notification that the user of the receiver-side portable telephone (1) identified by means of the acquired telephone number has joined the group call.
