PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger intended to heat oxygen or a gas rich in oxygen for the purpose of supplying the heated oxygen or the gas rich in oxygen to a burner of a glass melting furnace.SOLUTION: In a heat exchanger for supplying oxygen or a gas mixture containing at least 50% oxygen, a temperature of the oxygen or the gas mixture at an outlet of the heat exchanger is equal to or higher than 300°C, preferably higher than 400°C. The heated oxygen or the oxygen-rich gas is fed to one or more burners of a glass melting furnace. Heat of the combustion gases is used directly or indirectly to heat the oxygen or the oxygen-rich gas in the heat exchanger, in which output power of the heat exchanger is 20 to 300 kW, preferably 40 to 250 kW and especially preferably 80 to 170 kW. |
