Provided is a method for reporting system information using a terminal in a wireless communications system. The method includes the steps of: receiving a request for a report on system information on an adjacent cell from a serving cell; determining whether to report previously obtained system information about the adjacent cell to the serving cell; and reporting the previously obtained system information to the serving cell if it is decided that the previously obtained system information should be reported. The previously obtained system information is system information on the adjacent cell obtained before the request for the report on the system information is received.
