PURPOSE: Operating controlling apparatus and method for a kimchi refrigerator are provided to reduce the unnecessary power consumption, and to improve the power consumption efficiency. CONSTITUTION: An operating controlling apparatus comprises the following: a sensor(10) installed on each storage chamber for detecting contents; a load driving unit(30) separately controlling each storage chamber; a controller(20) selectively controlling the operation of the storage chambers by the detection result of the sensor; a light emitting unit installed on one side of the storage chambers; a light receiving unit installed on the other side of the storage chambers for receiving the light from the light emitting unit; and a display unit displaying the operation of the storage chambers by control signals from the controller. |
