PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a glass substrate for a magnetic disk capable of inexpensively producing a high quality glass substrate without degrading a polishing rate in a polishing process using fixed abrasive grains.SOLUTION: In a polishing process, a principal face of a glass substrate is polished by using a lubricating liquid and a surface plate on which a plurality of fixed abrasive grains are arranged on a polishing surface. In order to accelerate discharge of aggregates of sludge accumulated on the polishing surface due to the polishing, additives containing aluminum ions are included in the lubricating liquid which is supplied to the polishing surface of the glass substrate. |
