The present invention addresses the technical problem of, in a blow molding device which uses, as a pressurized fluid, liquid to be finally filled into a product, adjusting a head space in a container filled with a content liquid to a predetermined amount concurrently with molding. A method for producing a synthetic resin container, wherein liquid is supplied from a pressurized liquid supply unit into a preform via a blow nozzle to form a container into an expanded shape along the cavity surface of a mold. After the container is formed, the liquid in the container is pulled back to the pressurized liquid supply unit side by a suck-back mechanism (SB) provided in a predetermined position of a liquid supply path leading from the pressurized liquid supply unit to a mouth cylindrical portion of the preform, the supply path is brought into a closed state by a valve mechanism (Vm) provided on the downstream side from the suck-buck mechanism (SB), and gas is introduced into the container to restore the volume reduction deformation of the container due to pullback of the liquid to an original shape, thereby adjusting a head space in the container according to the volumetric change amount accompanying the volume reduction deformation.
