The element (16) has an internal toothing (20) formed with a receiving opening (18) through which the sliding element on a shaft (12) is slidably positionable in an axial direction of the shaft. The internal toothing is rotatably connected with the shaft. An outer circumference side is provided with two mutually different cam tracks (28) for lifting a valve in an axial direction. The cam tracks locally form a recess that is provided as lubricant retaining volume with a surface structuring. The material of a cam track is removed by a pulsed laser. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a sliding element.
