Disclosed is a method for repairing hole defects of aluminium alloys by friction stir welding, and comprises the following steps: 1) measuring the shaft shoulder diameter of a stir head and the length of a stir pin selected for welding, and recording the welding speed; 2) selecting a stir head for repairing, comparing with the stir head for welding, increasing the shaft shoulder diameter thereof by 2-3 mm to cover the plastically deformed area formed with the welding stir head, and shortening the length of the stir pin by 0.1-0.2 mm to guarantee the pressing amount during a repair welding process; and 3) during a repairing process, using a reverse direction welding, with the back side in the repairing process being the forward side in the welding process, and the repairing speed being 100-200 mm/min lower than the welding speed. This repairing method solves the problems of repairing hole defects of aluminium alloys having a plate of 2-35 mm thick by friction stir welding, as well as the problems of joint strength loss and low production efficiency after a repair welding using the method for welding aluminium alloy by MIG.
|
