An apparatus and a method for detecting an event from multiple photographed images are disclosed. Provided is an apparatus for generating a separate event rule comprising: an image receiving unit for receiving images photographed by a plurality of cameras; an image synthesizing unit for synthesizing the photographed images into one main image by using a conversion function which corresponds to the coordinate system of the cameras; an event rule acquiring unit for acquiring an event rule for the main image; a separate event rule generating unit for converting the event rule into a separate event rule corresponding to each of the cameras using the conversion function; and a rule transmitting unit for transmitting the converted separate event rule to detect an event.
