The present invention provides vanin-1 (VNN1) as a biomarker for inflammatory bowel diseases. More particularly, VNN1 may be suitable for the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), for the differential diagnosis between ulcerative colitis and Crohn's Disease, for monitoring the progression of an IBD, for detecting a bowel epithelial lesion in IBD, for monitoring treatments of IBD. |
