A portable device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a camera which captures a document arranging information on one or more products, including product names and code numbers corresponding to the product names in accordance with an arrangement rule which is an information arranging method; a display unit which displays an image captured by the camera; a memory which stores code information including a corresponding relation of the product name and the code number; and a control unit which stores the arrangement rule, identifies product information from the image captured by the camera, based on the arrangement rule, and displays the identified product information on the display unit. A method for controlling a portable device according to an embodiment of the present invention is a method for controlling a portable device, which includes a camera and a display unit displaying an image captured by the camera, comprising: a step of capturing, by the camera, a document arranging one or more pieces of product information in accordance with an arrangement rule that is an information arranging method; a step of storing the arrangement rule and identifying the product information from the image captured by the camera, based on the arrangement rule; and a step of displaying, by the display unit, the identified product information. |
