Thermoelectric device

The generator (1) has a thermoelectric module (3) provided with upper- and lower sides and thermoelectric active materials extending between the upper- and lower sides. A circular or oval pipe (2) transmits hot medium i.e. exhaust gas, or cold medium along a heat transmission path (11), such that the upper side stands in thermal contact with the hot medium and the lower side stands in thermal contact with the cold medium. The thermoelectric module includes an enveloping body to protect the active materials against influences or fluid contaminants from outer side of the thermoelectric module.
