Substantially spherical crystal aggregates of monosodium glutamate monohydrate and one or more 51-ribonucleotide disodium salts are obtained by preparing a solution in aqueous methanol containing 50-90% wt methanol of the monosodium glutamate and the 51-ribonucleotide disodium salts, the solution being supersaturated with respect to monosodium glutamate, permitting crystal aggregates to form, and separating the aggregates. The supersaturated solution may be obtained by dissolving monosodium glutamate, adding the 51-ribonucleotide disodium salt, and then either adding more monosodium glutamate or cooling the solution. 51-ribonucleotides specified are the inosinate, guanylate, cytidylate, and uridylate. |
