<p>An apparatus for controlling vehicle speed when the roof of a convertible vehicle is opened and closed is disclosed. According to the present invention, the apparatus for controlling vehicle speed measures the current speed of the convertible vehicle and air resistance through related sensors when the roof of the convertible vehicle is opened and closed. The invention extracts the target speed of the convertible vehicle and the air resistance based on the operation result of an input button for opening the roof of the convertible vehicle and the opening state of the roof. The invention determines whether or not the result obtained by comparing the measured current speed and air resistance to the target speed and air resistance satisfies the predetermined condition for operating the roof. When the result satisfies the operating condition, control signals for opening and closing the roof are outputted, and the invention automatically controls the opening and closing of the roof of the convertible vehicle based on the driving condition and air resistance so that the safety of drivers and vehicles is improved.
