A silicon carbide honeycomb structure is provided to have an excellent heat impact property by coating and sintering the silica on the silicon carbide honeycomb segment. A silicon carbide honeycomb segment passing through a plastic process is dipped in a silica sol. The silicon carbide honeycomb segment dipped into the silica sol is dried after blowing the silicon carbide honeycomb segment dipped into the silica sol with compressed air. The dried silicon carbide honeycomb segment is heat-treated. The silica sol comprises 5 weight% ~ 40 weight% of silica solid. The thermal process is performed at a temperature of 600deg.C ~ 1400deg.C for 1 hour ~ 5 hours. |
