The part i.e. cross-piece (12D), has a reinforcement element (20) and a plastic molded envelope (22) arranged on the reinforcement element. The envelope defines an external surface (24) of the part. The element comprises a body (32) and a conical or truncated protuberance (34) that is made of plastic and projects from the body toward the external surface. The protuberance is to be leveled with the external surface. The protuberance presents a broad base (40) for connection to the body, and a narrow end (42) for outcropping the external surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a reinforced part of a car.
