PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric construction machine capable of ensuring the safety of the machine and an operator in a construction site even if the deterioration of the insulation resistance in an electrically operated system is detected. SOLUTION: The electric construction machine includes: an insulation resistance deterioration detection means 90 for detecting the deterioration of the insulation resistance between a vehicle body and the electrically operated system including a first electric motor 201, a second electric motor 25, a first inverter 53, a second inverter 52, and a power storage device 202; and a control device 80 for controlling the number of revolutions of the first electric motor 201 and the second electric motor 25 by outputting torque increase/decrease instructions to the first inverter 53 and the second inverter 52 respectively. The control device 80 includes a supervisory control means for informing an operator of the deterioration of the insulation resistance in the electrically operated system and decreasing the number of revolutions of the first electric motor 201 when the insulation resistance deterioration detection means 90 detects the deterioration of the insulation resistance in the electrically operated system.
