PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve use efficiency for a shared pool volume in a data replication system using a snapshot method for backing up. SOLUTION: A data replication system 800 for storing, as master data are updated, the master data from a master volume 801 to a snapshot volume 802 includes an eviction data check means 806 for checking contents of the master data before replicating the master data to the snapshot volume 802. The eviction data check means 806, when it determines that the master data match specific data, does not perform data copying of the master data to the snapshot volume 802.
