The method involves molding a casing (1). A ball (8) is introduced into a cage below upper ends. The upper ends are plastically deformed to form visors (22) extending radially toward an interior of the casing by causing matrix to bear against tops of hollow domes and via axial displacement of the matrix on stroke for crushing the domes, where the visors are arranged to imprison the ball in the cage and ribs (14) are formed such that a free surface extends from a lateral edge to another lateral edge by forming one of the domes having one of the tops. An independent claim is also included for a pump body.
