Fluorescent material according to the present invention emits light having a peak within wavelength ranges of 500-600 nm and has α560 nm of a light absorption coefficient less than or equal to 4×10^(-5) at 560 nm, if light having a peak within wavelength ranges of 250-500 nm is applied. The fluorescent material is indicated as Formula (1) as follows. Formula (1): (M_(1-x)Ce_x)_(2y)Al_zSi_(10-z)O_uN_w, wherein M is a metal element selected from a group consisting of Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg, Li, Na, and K, and x, y, z, u and w are variables respectively satisfy the following conditions. 0<x<=1,0.8<=y<=1.1,2<=z<=3.5u<=1,1.8<=z-u and13<=u+w<=15. |
