<p>A computer-implemented system and method for authentication and recordal of personnel attendance at a designated location in which a mobile application is configured to capture image data representative of a user's face, employ facial recognition to verify the identity of the user, determine from a predefined record of authorised personnel if the user is an authorised person for the location, and generate data indicative of the user's attendance at the designated location. Location data may be provided to the application so as to verify that the user is at the designated location, such as from a GPS system on the mobile device. The data indicative of attendance can include an indication of whether or not the user is authorised, certified and/or qualified to attend the location. When the image of the users face is being captured, indications may be given regarding the correct angle, tilt and/or distance to the users face. Further disclosed is a computer-implemented system and method for authentication and authorisation of personnel attendance at a designated location in which a physical characteristic of the user is captured is used to determine whether the user has one or more indicators that might prevent them from working effectively.</p> |
