<p>A means for marking an asset as stolen comprises an impermeable enclosure 10 containing a marker material 12 and has two contact faces, each with adhesive 16, by which the enclosure is affixable between two adjacent possibly metallic surfaces, one being a surface of the asset to be marked, such that when the surfaces are pulled apart the enclosure breaks and releases the marker material onto the surface of the asset, enabling subsequent identification. The enclosure may be laminar, flexible, plastic or a sealed sachet and may have a frangible zone. The two contact faces may be opposite each-other and the strength of the adhesive on each contact surface can exceed the strength of the frangible zone. The adhesive may be a self adhesive pad which may have release paper affixed. The marker material may be a liquid and may be scented to aid sniffer dogs.</p> |
