A tape dispenser has a carrier portion 50 displaceable between an open position (fig.4) and a closed position (fig.8). When transferring to the later stages of the closed position (fig.8), formations, such as a bevel 523, and groove 524, engage and pull upwards upon a transverserod 344. In this manner a suction member 32 is pulled upwards against a spring 40 bias, to clamp the tape dispenser to a surface upon which it is resting. When the dispenser is engaged to a surface it might now be possible to pull tape from the device single handed, as the dispenser will not slide across the surface to which it has been attached. |
