A cattle crush comprises a framework, including guide member 16, with operating members 66/68/70 movable lengthwise thereof, connected to linkages 90/92 which connect to lateral restraining assemblies, with assemblies being movable towards and away from one another. The frame may include head (102/104, Fig. 5) or tail 136/138 gates, which may be connected to guide members via further operating members and linkages, or be pivotally movable relative to the framework. Restraining assemblies may be mounted to the framework by upper and lower support members 38-41/38a-41a adjacent the ends of the crush, and may form a parallelogram arrangement, or include door portions to provide access to an animal therein. The guide members may be channel-section members and may have a C-Shaped cross section which may permit operating members to have rolling elements supported in the channel. Operating members may be connected pairs movable lengthwise of the framework by an actuator. |
