The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for concentrating hydrogen iodide (HI) using a separation membrane. According to the present invention, as a method of concentrating HI in a thermochemical water-splitting hydrogen production process, provided is a method of concentrating HI in a thermochemical water-splitting hydrogen production process which comprises: (a) a step of concentrating sulfuric acid generated by a Bunsen reaction; and (b) a step of flowing in a hydroiodic acid solution produced by the Bunsen reaction and the concentrated sulfuric acid solution to a separation membrane module, thereby concentrating the hydroiodic acid solution; and in the separation membrane module, water contained in the hydroiodic acid solution is moving toward the sulfuric acid solution by osmotic pressure.
