Provided is a toothbrush, which enhances the slip-preventing effect and the operability at a handle portion and which has an excellent appearance. The toothbrush is constituted such that trough portions (7) and ridge portions (8) extending in the longitudinal direction are formed alternately in the widthwise direction, such that the spacings between those trough portions (7) and ridge portions (8) are gradually narrowed according to the width change of the handle portion (2) from the wide portion (2a) to the narrow portions (2b and 2c), and such that the faces of the handle portion (2) having the trough portions (7) and the ridge portions (8) are covered with a transparent covering member (9). As a result, the shapes of the handle portion (2), the trough portions (7) and the ridge portions (8), and the material, thickness and hardness of the covering member (9) are optimized to match the functions such as the slip preventing effect or the operability of the handle portion (2). At the same time, the apparent shape of the handle portion (2) can be given apparently excellent and characteristic designs by the visual effect. |
