A new class is proposed of alkylsulfonyl-substituted N-(thiazole-2-yl)benzamide and use thereof of general formula (I)or a salt thereof, in which R-Rare, each independently of one another, chosen from H, OH, (C-C)alkylthio, (C-C)alkylsulfonyl, -O-CO-(C-C)alkyl and -O-SO-(C-C)alkyl; and Rand Rare, each independently of one another, chosen from a group comprising H, (C-C)alkylthio, (C-C)alkylsulfonyl and -O-SO-(C-C)alkyl, provided that at least one of R-Ror Ris (C-C)alkylsulfonyl or -O-SO-(C-C)alkyl. These compounds show strong activity against hepatitis virus. |
