An apparatus (10) for testing residual current devices (RCDs) (50) is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a mains supply input (14) with first active (A1), neutral (N1) and earth (E1) signals; a test output (16) with second active, neutral and earth signals; a test input (18) with third active (A2), neutral (N2) and earth (E2) signals. An residual current device with fourth RCD input active, neutral and earth signals is connected to the test output second active, neutral and earth signals and RCD fifth output active, neutral and earth signals are connected to the test input third active, neutral and earth signals. A first test means is provided and the mains supply input first active and neutral signals are connected to the test output second active and neutral signals and the test input third active signal is connected to the mains supply first neutral signal via a trip current generator. |
