The system (20) has a spatially coherent laser (24) to illuminate a sample (22) i.e. biological particle, and a photodetector matrix (26) to establish a diffraction image transmitted by the illuminated sample. A support (28) for receiving the sample is placed between the laser and the photodetector matrix according to a vertical direction (Z). An index adaptation material i.e. oil (29) is placed between the support and the photodetector matrix, where the oil is transparent to the wavelength of the illumination, and presents a refraction index equal to 1.45.
