602378 A diverter for use with a rain water collecting system having a conduit leading to a water storage tank. The diverter has a reservoir for receiving the liquid diverted from the rain water collecting system, a coupling which is configured to be connected to a conduit of the rain water collecting system, a flexible conduit between the coupling and the reservoir and a valve that allows the liquid to flow into the reservoir through an inlet and substantially inhibits liquid flowing out of the reservoir through the inlet. The valve is arranged such that when a volume of liquid in the reservoir reaches a predetermined level, the valve will close the inlet to substantially inhibit liquid flowing into the reservoir. |
