<p>Negative carbon are electrodes comprising an outer shell formed from a mixture of 75-90% graphite flour, 10-15% carbon black and between 28 and 34 parts per hundred of pitch and extruding and baking, and a core formed from a mixture of 80% carbon particles and 20% combined inorganic additives, e.g. silicon sulphur and potassium silicate have a spigot and socket joint (see Division H1) coated with a conductive material of graphite or metal (Ag, Cu, Fe or Ni) powder dispersed in an epoxy resin to which triethanolamine and silicon dioxide may be added.</p> |
