The present invention relates to a functional kimchi with a hypoglycemic effect and a method for manufacturing the same. The method for manufacturing the kimchi according to the present invention, comprises: in the process of making the kimchi by adding spices to raw ingredients, 10-30 parts by weight of a functional hypoglycemic additive which is added per 100 parts by weight of the raw ingredients for the kimchi; and the functional hypoglycemic additive which comprises 80-99 wt% of healthy functional food ingredients and 1-20 wt% of functional nutrients. Containing a number of healthy functional food ingredients that lower the level of blood sugar, control an absorption of sugar into a body and prevent carbohydrates from breaking down into glucose, the functional kimchi with a hypoglycemic effect manufactured by the method of the present invention can thereby be put to good use for patients with diabetes or people for whom special care is required due to high blood sugar levels. |
