Disclosed is a method of fixing or binding carbon dioxide (CO2) which fixates the CO2 as carbonate comprising the steps of; preparing an aqueous solution of water and coal ash or coal residue; contacting gas containing CO2 with the aqueous solution at a pressure that is greater than atmospheric pressure; and reacting the CO2 with the aqueous solution to produce a carbonate whereby the CO2 is fixed or bound. |
