An embodiment of the present invention provides an application device for providing a motion recognition type universal remote controller and a method thereof. The application device includes: a data storage unit for storing control information for selecting and controlling a list of control target devices and the control target devices; a motion recognition unit for detecting a motion of terminal which is generated in a process of selecting and controlling a predetermined device and generating sensing information of the terminal; a wireless signal intensity detection unit for receiving and storing intensity information of a wireless signal in a location in which the terminal is located from a wireless communication module of the terminal; a control unit for generating a command and a signal for the command for selecting and controlling a predetermined device based on the sensing information of the terminal and the intensity information of the wireless signal; and a data learning unit for receiving and learning control information of a predetermined device which is generated in a process of selecting and controlling a predetermined device and transmitting the learned control information to the data storage unit.
