PURPOSE: A submerged arc welding apparatus with a carrier having a built-in controller, and a control method thereof are provided to maximize convenience in working by immediately controlling welding work through a controller built in a carriage by the worker. CONSTITUTION: A submerged arc welding apparatus with a carrier having a built-in controller comprises a carriage (5), a welding head member (7), a welding power supplying device (8), and a controller (10). The carriage has a wheel for moving in the lower part of the body frame in order to move along a rail which is installed on the floor surface of a base metal. The welding head member implements welding work on the base metal while moving a welding torch. The welding power supplying device supplies the welding head member with welding voltage and current. The controller includes the welding head member which is mounted with the carriage in order to control the function of the welding apparatus in general. |
