The terminal (10) i.e. electronic payment terminal, has a contactless communication unit, where a part of the contactless communication unit is placed on a keyboard guard (101) that is mounted on the terminal. The contactless communication unit is arranged with a contactless antenna that is able to be deactivated when a keyboard guard is an opening position, and the contactless antenna is able to be activated when the keyboard guard is in a closing position. The keyboard guard is able to be folded back in the closing position. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a communication terminal.
