The battery module (1) has a clamping element (5) that is provided for clamping battery cells (3) against each other. A cooler (7) is integrated in the clamping element. The cooler is provided with a meandering course. A clamping element is provided with an inner element (11), and is designed to clamp the battery cells against each other. An outer element (13) is arranged facing away from one of the battery cells side of the clamping element. The inner element is cohesively connected to the outer element.
