STRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENT TO DISPOSABLE UNIVERSAL PROTECTOR FOR STETHOSCOPES

The structural improvement to disposable universal protector for stethoscopes relates more particularly to a disposable protector developed especially for use in clinical examinations and the like, in order to increase biological safety by providing a mechanical barrier that prevents any contact between the stethoscope diaphragm (DE) and the patient's skin, keeping the diaphragm free from bacteria and protecting the patient from micro-organisms located on the stethoscope. This protection eliminates contamination entirely and dispenses with the use of toxic and corrosive chemical substances. According to the present invention, the stethoscope protector (page 1/2; top, central and bottom figures) is made of a suitable material, has a reduced thickness, and is preferably formed by a single structure with inside fasteners that allow the protector to be universally used with stethoscopes of different brands and sizes (page 2/2, top figure). The outer circular rim allows hermetic sealing and adjustment, and serves mainly to support the protector (P) when the latter is opened for being inserted and removed. A flap is provided on one side of the protector to make it easier to handle, place and remove. Excessive handling and contamination of the protector are thus avoided.
