<p>Provided is an internal combustion engine with high energy efficiency, a simple structure, and few valve mechanisms. An internal combustion engine (100) comprises: main cylinders (1, 2) formed by two ring-shaped cylindrical members connected at two locations at a right-angle intersection; main pistons (5, 6, and 7, 8) rotatably disposed in the main cylinders (1, 2); compressed air transition pipes (27, 28, 33) provided in a state so as to pass through the main cylinders (1, 2) near an intersecting section of the main cylinders (1, 2); sub cylinders (3, 4) connected in a state to intersect each of the main cylinders (1, 2) in a location separated from the intersecting sections of the main cylinders (1, 2); sub pistons (9, 10) rotatably provided in the sub cylinders (3, 4); injection means (50, 51) for injecting fuel into the compressed air transition pipes (27, 28); a synchronization means for linking the rotation of the main pistons (5, 6, 7, 8) and the sub pistons (9, 10); and an output means for extracting the rotating force of the main pistons (5, 6, 7, 8).</p> |
