PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide truly useful information about commodities for a user who is shopping.SOLUTION: A portable terminal, which is capable of storing purchased commodity information and receiving commodity-related information, comprises: a first storage unit which stores user information that specifies an owner and purchase history information of commodities that the owner purchased earlier; a commodity information acquisition unit which, when the owner is walking around a shop with a portable terminal in hand, acquires information about a commodity placed near the owner's current position; a provided information determination unit which uses the purchase history information to determine whether the acquired information about the commodity is provided to the owner; an information selection generation unit which, as a result of the determination by the provided information determination unit, selects commodity-related information to be provided among such information or generates the commodity-related information to be provided; an output unit which provides the selected or generated commodity-related information to the owner. |
